Today again I found myself blown away by Dr Joe Kendrick and his staff. I have a pit mix. He's 11 yrs old. The second time I took nino there for shots. Dr Rick called him aggressive. His first time seeing nino. Dogs when new to a place or a person their natural instincts kick in. Today Dr Rick tried to twist my words when I asked how can he categorize nino like that and you've NEVER seen him. I ask to speak to Dr Joe bc I meet him thru the Step Up program. But as I see, Asheville hwy Animal clinic is about the money not about the care of animals. I wanted to know why they wanted to sedate nino for his shots for an extra $170.00 dollars when if you was concerned about him being aggressive all you had to do was put a muzzle on him if afraid of him biting. They say they've been around for years but you don't know how to deal with animal behavior. DO NOT take your canine babies to the AHAC because they are ALL about the money and not about Animal care. Dr Joe... Papa Bear for the way I was treated and talk to today is the reason Black people don't support each other. You change face with your All white staff even Dr Rick, esp Dr Rick!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Asheville Highway Animal Hospital. Today I walked in without an appointment because of a sudden emergency with my 8 pound mini dachshund, Lottie, and from the moment we walked through the door, everyone was so incredibly kind, compassionate, and reassuring. They immediately rushed to get her taken care of and treated her like she was their own. The staff went above and beyond to make sure Lottie was okay and to make me feel less scared. One of the sweetest moments was when the vet gave me a hug and told me that they were all taking turns holding my baby. Knowing that she was being loved on and cared for by people who genuinely cared about her meant more to me than they probably realize. The entire team made me feel like Lottie was in the best possible hands. Another thing I noticed was that they were not lacking staff and everyone was working hard on something while I waited. The energy seemed like a work family that had a wonderful system going. Their kindness, urgency, compassion, and genuine love for animals were so evident. I am incredibly grateful for everyone at Asheville Highway Animal Hospital today. Thank you for taking such good care of my girl. We are so thankful for you all! I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a veterinary team that truly cares.
